What Path To Go? Career Choice?

By admin Posted in: Uncategorized

Hi,
I’m currently a student attending community college in miami and have come to a conclusion that i do not want to go along with my original choice of civil engineering as a career.I am in my second year of college and have found that i am interested in medicine and law.
I am having trouble choose between the two,
If i were to go the medicine path I would be interested in P.A-physician assistant or Pharmacy.
But i also like law and always have wanted to become a lawyer from a young age, I am the type of person who analyzes before they talk and take in peoples opinions and love to debate if i feel i am right, i am also good at convincing and bringing up good points in a argument.
the only thing holding me back from law is that i read online and it seems there is not a good job outlook for lawyers, i have already started college and currently have a 2.5 gpa i am also 21 years old. the reason why i have such a low gpa is because i really had no idea what i wanted to do with my life so i would not take school serious, i know am focused and know i want to either become a attorney/lawyer or a PA or pharmacist.
im really confused and any help and suggestions from you guys on these jobs will really come in handy and help me make one of the hardest decisions i have had to make in my life, actually THE hardest decision i have made to this day
Thanks,

If you’re a student your issues can be many and varied, from Deciding upon your career road to searching for a temporary job. The site in the box below has plenty of guidance for students, and they have info about job searching too.

    higher education = higher wage
it doesn’t really matter what you do, you just have to be good at it.
I think you should work on raising your GPA, perhaps transfer, and try to get into law school. Perhaps get internships, student loans, and make your way up there. You need to get that GPA up and prove that the classes you were taking were just not right for you. Do well on your new classes.
You are young you have plenty of time. I suggest a lot of education especially for law.
It’s your second year of college, the perfect time to change your mind, make a decision, stick with it, pursue it, if it’s not right for you leave it before it’s too late, work hard and you will be good at it. You know also that what you choose to do as an undergraduate should not matter, because if you decide to pursue higher education you can change careers.
